Stone Age rock-carving at Vingen, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. The Vingen area shows a large number of of prehistoric rock-art figures close to the sea, mainly depicting big game. The animals often are made in a so-called "X-ray technique", with lines covering the bodies. The figures were produced by local hunter-gatherers c. 4000 - 1500 BC. Photo: Niclas Burenhult.
